Yep, that "What is the largest size Secure Digital (SD) card that an automotive device can accept?" FAQ still says "nuvi series, Maximum Size of SD Card, 16GB". I'll confirm that this is false when my Nuvi 2575R GDR fully fills the 32GB microSD in it. :-'

Moey, 64GB is still on the pricy side, RM200+ [1].

I'll do with two 32GB micro SD for now, only about 2 * RM60 [2][3]. This is better operationally too. Fill up first 32GB, swap it with empty second 32GB, then copy relevant videos from first 32GB and clear it for next swap.

Also I suspect that 64GB using SDXC standard may not work on the nuvi. Whereas, 1GB to 32GB uses the same SDHC standard. [4]

My nuvi 2575R doesn't prompt me when the card is full as it begins to overwrite the older videos. So, swapping when the card fills up is not really practical in real world usage.

If you click the "protect" button while recording, all subsequent files are "protected". Then when the card is full it will prompt you no more space and stop recording.

Hi,

One question on this unit. Does it support external GPS antenna ? If yes, any supported types of the antenna ?

Thanks

The answer is yes.

Some of these can be used on nuvi 2575R

Perhaps this question has been asked before; bear with me please.

My camera records on a 1 min interval; how do I change it to 3 mins? I am using only a tiny 8GB micro SD.

Mmm ... It records a video at about 20 frames/sec or so. Or did I get your question wrong?

On my device, recording in VGA (640x480) will give AVI files 256MB in size, duration of 2min 45sec at 29frames/sec. And recording in HD (1280x720) will give AVI files 256MB in size, duration of 1min 45sec at 19frames/sec.

Anyway, I've managed to corrupt my Sandisk 32GB microSD. Can't format it on my notebook or on the Nuvi's GDR. Ah well, back to the smaller Adata 8GB microSD.
