i had been using Nuvi 710 for few years before decided to get a new Nuvi, thus Nuvi 2465 is my choice. After using it for almost two (2) weeks, i still prefer the old nuvi 710.

Reason is very simple: i can see POIs clearly but not on Nuvi 2465. I just wish Nuvi 2465 can display all the POI like what Nuvi 710 do, it will be nice.

Concur with you which is why I kept and still use my old 765 over the newer 3790 I have on occasions as can see all POI when navigating

Looks like it is recorded in GMT standard for which both Singapore and Malaysia are 8 hrs ahead.
AFAIK almost all mapping software should have a parameter to adjust the time you want it to be displayed.

Garmin 2465 problem downloading City Navigator

Postby adrianc52 » Tue Oct 09, 2012 10:12 am

I'm using Garmin 2465, AECO set.
but I'm unable to download the latest City Navigator Singapore/Malaysia NT MAP 2012.20 from Garmin SG website.
when I click unlock:
The connected device does not qualify for the update. :
You may go to Where to Buy for accessory maps.

Anyone can help with this matter?
Thanks in advance.

Your unit is not an LM (Life Maps) model, and so is only entitled to one City Navigator update.

Nuvi 2465 CPOI Issue

Postby ch_leong » Sat Oct 27, 2012 12:35 pm

After reading some threads, I still cannot find an answer for enabling CPOI in Nuvi 2465.
I've been told that CPOI icons can't be displayed because of firmware limitation.
I've some questions here for the AES and roadtrap CPOI:-

1. Can we still use CPOI in 2465?
2. How do we know if the CPOI is successfully loaded? Can we search the AES CPOI?
3. What is being shown or is there any sound alert?

I found the answser
1. Yes.
2. Put it into .System\POI. Create POI folder if not available.
3. Yes. There will be sound alert once you start the navigation. No alert if No navigation.
