You may want to contact bro gpssin to see if he has the battery.

I just found a suitable phone battery that I'm installing. The "original" just cost too much and not available in Pg. Hence I chose to use a 950mA (Original Nuvi 1250mA) Nokia phone battery to power the Nuvi 300. It should work and I'm in the process of removing the battery from its mounting to install the Nuvi battery monitoring circuit. It is quite a job and definitely not for the faint hearted.

A note to remember, the 950mA will certainly gives lesser operating life ( ~1-1.5 hours less). The original is Li-Ion Polymer and the Nokia is Li_Ion, the charging part may need some tuning. Will do a photo shoot when I disassemble and assemble... hope fully write some instructions too. Wish me luck.... worst case scenario buy a new Nuvi... :$gone: [-o< ...cheers!

Those who wants the original hassle free battery change should contact Bro gpssin he has stock parts.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

I'm used to these kind of work and this project is no rocket science to me. The Nokia battery monitoring circuit is now removed. Will continue to open up the Nuvi to work on its battery. This is the second time I'm opening the Nuvi... thanks to the instructions from Bro gpssin. Will do a step by step photo shoot during the process.... cheers!
