Re: Nuvi 765T Need Help

Postby alpago » Thu Nov 05, 2009 10:56 pm

Need help form all sifu here. I've installed latest MFM map. But when I check, malsingmap is already installed. Now I have both.
Now the problem is I can't see junction view and highway exit point anymore. What should I do? Should I remove malsingmap? Is MFM support junction view? If yes, where should I get it? Any help is very much appreciated

Al

You cannot use both maps at the same time. You must de-activate one of the maps

MAINMENU - TOOLS - SYSTEM - MAPS - MAPINFO

Uncheck MSM or MFM

MFM maps does not have JCV feature, You have to use MSM maps for that feature

Changes made from version 2.10 to 2.30:
----------------------------------------------------
1. Synchronize to English software v3.80.
2. Support reading the EXIF of .jpeg files and doing the photo navigation.

Clean 765SG230 rgn.

p/s : I did not test it yet. :)

If you are currently runs the 765MALSG v2.10, you can use the Garmin installer directly.

thanks for your upload. i've switched from TWN2.8 to 2.30SG. I've kept MFM has a backup while now i'm 'adapting' to MSM.. not many polygons compared to MFM.. but so far okay okay. It would be great if theres more 3d buildings though..

Now testing the 765SG230. Not much changes from the 210. Custom icons still appeared during navigation. Hope nothing is broken with 7x5 US/EU unit :)

Thank you.

Hello to all,

I just got my nuvi 765T, was so excited to install MFM that i didn't back up nor create a gmapsupp1.img file to archive the factory installed map. Went ahead and simply replaced gmapsupp.img created from mapsource (mfm-garmin 091116a). Though my nuvi is still working i wonder if there'll be any adverse effects in time to come.......

Lastly i tried searching to no avail, can anyone help/direct me to a possible way to restore my set back to 'off the shelf'? So that i can install MFM once again the very proper way......

Thanks alot, this place rocks!!

Bro magnet, Map files are not stores in ROM. It is in NVRAM of Nuvi. Once over-ridden, gone forever.

The only one that can help you is Garmin. You can write to them to explain your predicament and see if they will help you.
You cannot copy from another Nuvi as the the map is locked to GPS ID.

Thanks Silver,

Like previously mentioned, my nuvi works fine for now....but what are the gotchas with those missing files?

If not gonna hurt I would avoid the hassle of reinstalling to factory mode.

Thanks alot once more.

hi Bahathir,

I need a 2.9 twn rgn file to update my 765 TWN nuvi. I updated my 2.9 to 2.3 using your clean rgn file above. However, I want to go back as the 2.9 showed all road names with the custom map I have. Can you please post a link where I can go back from 2.3 to 2.9 Taiwan?

Thanks, your work is much appreciated.
