Hi,

Anyone know what is the maximum size of SD Card that can be used for Garmin 205W?

For filesystem, is FAT-32 supported?

What about other kind of SD, such as MicroSD?

Thanks.

i only have an 8gb microsd from my mobile phone which i used the sd adaptor to load in to my nuvi. 8gb is the largest capacity for my phone though :(
but yeah 8gb works on a 205w.

FAT32 is supported. in fact its highly recommended. FAT32 files can go up to ...errmm..... 32gb max if i'm not mistaken. anything beyond FAT32's 32gb has to go through NTFS or multiple FAT32 segmentations.

Anybody encountered this funny problem, in that if I don't use the SatNav for some time, and after a few days (i.e. 1 week), it takes ages to acquire the signal?

Thanks

seems like my 205W is having some problem after installed the updated Garmin Map Malsingmaps v2009_3.

after deleted the files when use back the MFM v1.51,it wouldn't recognized the U-turn point of the road that i previously no problem with everydays navigated, it will lead to a long way and took a normal turn and come back to the point!

still no problem with my GMXT in N95(which luckily i didn't try the stupid Garmin udate map) , and no problem when try to navigate in the Mapsource too, all take the U-turn at that specify turn which were allowed.

any one having the same problem?

surely i had set the avoidance in the 205W,and untick the U-turn.

This is normal and part of procedure of any GPS. After a period of being powered off, it has to regather the Almanac data ( the approximate positions of the satellites) & Ephemeris data ( the precise positions of the satellites ) to determine
where you are located.
