Re: Do I copy all AES versions into the POI folder
Hey guys, Sorry about this question. I'm a bit new to this installing custom POI things. I have downloaded the latest one as stated in a compiled thread of custom POI. Does that mean that from now when Garmin GPS is running, it will notify me automatically of all the custom POIs that is in the fold...

Re: Garmin 255w cannot power up
To give you a clearer picture, even a flat battery can hold enough juice for a few seconds if you charge it for a few hours. Your device has to depend on its internal battery power (even though just a few seconds before the booting process allows the device to recognise an external power source and ...

Re: Garmin 255w cannot power up
Used car charger but still cannot wake it up  meaning I might need to get a new set If you have an indoor charger, charge up the battery for a few hours before trying again or connect it to your car, make sure the cigarette lighter is powered and leave for a few hours before trying again. Ther...

Re: Garmin 255w cannot power up
If the battery is flat, it cannot power just by using the car charger? The car adapter supplies power as an external power source which overrides the battery hence you can power up even with a dead battery (as long as it remains connected). During use with an external power source, theoretically it...

Re: How do I do a tracklog if I am in a tunnel?
I have not seen the simulation mode, but I would think it will clearly show that it has lost satellite reception and is in simulation mode, right? Then the user will know that the bends may not correspond. No, you will not see any difference. It will be as if you still have satellite lock and your ...

Re: How do I do a tracklog if I am in a tunnel?
Thanks on that info about Garmin compiled map. In that case, also take note of the distance (from car odometer) and then draw some random curve to make up that distance. Dear Bro Francis, That makes more sense than drawing a straight line so the simulator will have the correct distance to simulate ...

Re: How do I do a tracklog if I am in a tunnel?
I guess the best is to drive into the tunnel from both directions and take the last satellite reception points at both ends. Then draw a straight line joining them both should be fine, right? Since users of the resultant map will not have reception on their GPSR while in the tunnel anyway, their GP...

Re: How do I do a tracklog if I am in a tunnel?
Being able to use the GPS in the tunnel of KPE & CTE has been around for a couple of years already if you used the City Navigator or Garmin generated maps (unless I'm blabbering here.. ). To do a fresh track of a newly opened tunnel like the MCE...hmm...first, you have to accept OngCC...
